My HoloLens and tablet are not connecting. The updates are loading for a long time, what should I do?HoloLens Status screen disappeared or is flickering on and off. You could have a weak internet connection. Check if the red HIGH PING RATE warning appears on the HoloLens status screen. To fix this, connect to a different WIFI network (mobile hotspot or other) that is more stable. The issue can be related to firewall or security settings. Please contact your IT department to check it with them. You can test this by connecting to a different WIFI network similar to above. Make sure that the tablet and HoloLens display the same region. You will see a region indicator in the bottom right corner of both the tablet and HoloLens connect screens. Make sure they match. If you are not able to resolve you connection issues please do not hesitiate to CONTACT support@fabstation.ca Your FabStation application on the Hololens may have to download project data before the assembly is loaded. This is normal and could take up to 30 minutes or more depending on how many projects are in the system and their size. If your device goes to sleep, the download process may be interrupted. If this occurs, kill both apps, restart the HoloLens and reconnect the devices. Make sure to adjust the sleep setting as recommended at the end of this guide to ensure your devices do not go to sleep too quickly. Note: The Status screen may disappear and holograms may flicker on occasion while the updates are loading. This usually haapens during the last phase of the synch process. This is normal, be patient and wait for the instruction to look at the marker to appear. It is recommended that new users read the Getting Around article from Microsoft prior to using the HoloLens 2. We will ask you to look through the settings below to make sure that you are aware of the recommended adjustments. Power and Sleep The Power and Sleep setting should be adjusted to ensure that the device will not go to sleep too frequently. The setting shouldn't be longer than 20 minutes on the battery, however, it should be set to at least one hour when plugged in. Settings -> System -> Power and Sleep TIP: When updating the HoloLens or downloading a large project the Hololens can be plugged in and set down while you are waiting for it to complete. Sign-In Recommended setting is to turn the sign-in requirement to Never. This is not required if you have a dedicated user that is using the Iris sign-in feature but makes life easier if multiple users will be using the HoloLens. Settings -> Accounts -> Sign-in options Warning: There is a risk that your privacy and/or data could be compromised if the device is accessed unlawfully. Please consult your IT department to ensure this option is right for you. Remove Holograms This setting adjustment removes all holograms and extraneous data between sessions when the correct power-down procedure is used. Make sure to switch the Automatically Remove all Holograms option to On. Settings -> System -> Holograms HoloLens 2 Interactions There are a few important HoloLens interactions that should be mastered in order to be successful.
