Back Get started Part 1: Tablet Set-up Step 1: Install FabStation App 1.1 Go to Play or App Store. - For Android tablet devices use this link: - For Apple tablet devices use this link: 1.2 Search for βFabStation Steelβ in the store on your device and download it. Note: If you can't install the Fabstation App, your device is incompatible. If you are unsure if your device is compatible, please contact support for a list of compatible devices. 1.3 Install and launch the app. 1.4 Accept any pop-ups that ask to use the device camera; these permissions are required for the software to operate. Let's go to the 2nd step π Back Step 2 Part 1: Tablet Set-up Step 2: Register your device So, you installed FabStation App. Perfect! ππ Let's register your device(tablet) in our system. 2.1 Open the FabStation App. You will see "Live" tab with blank login fields. Username will populate when the device is registered and synced, so it's expected to be blank now. 2.2 Go to Settings: 2.3 Take note of the (virtual) MAC address: You will use (virtual) MAC to register your device on FabStation website. 2.4 Open FabStation website and login there. π‘ Remember we asked you about login credentials before we started? Contact us. 2.5 Go to "New Hardware" and fill the requested details: And now let's complete the final step π What is a virtual MAC address? MAC address or media access control address is a unique identifier assigned to a network. Every computer or device on the internet has a MAC address, it identifies a device to other devices on the same local network. Step 1 Step 3 Part 1: Tablet Set-up Step 3: Sync your device with FabStation App 3.1 Go back to FabStation App > Settings page. Click on "Sync Device": Once synced, go back to the login screen on the app using the arrow < in the top left corner. 3.2 Login to FabStation App. - Your username should populate automatically. - Use the same password as for the website and click on "LOGIN". Once itβs done, the app should download all relevant data. 3.3 Once data is downloaded, you will be reverted to the login screen. Please click on "LOGIN" again. After that, you should see the Home screen. See the Home screen? Perfect, we are almost done with the setup! πͺ App is not syncing my data or not taking me to the Home screen. What should I do? 1. Check your Wifi. If your network connection is unstable or your device goes to sleep, the download process may be interrupted. If this occurs, kill the app, restart it and press the Sync Device button when it opens and then login as described. 2. Make sure you noted and typed the MAC address correctly, including colons. Apple iOS 11.0 or later (Ipad)Android 8.0 or later (Android Tablet) Adjust Tablet Hardware Settings In order for your tablet to work optimally with our system we reccommend the following settings: Screen lock Screen Lock To prevent the tablet screen from locking you out during FabStation activities, it is recommended to set the lock screen timeout to 15 minutes (at least). Follow the instructions below to complete this process. Ipad: Settings -> Display & Brightness -> Auto-Lock Android Tablet: Settings -> Security -> Settings -> Lock after screen timeout Updates Automatic Updates Sometimes the automatic update setting is turned off by default.
