  • This guide will be used for the tablet only, no HoloLens 🕶️ needed.

    For both Part 2 and Part 3 - 2D and 3D viewers guides, please use the same assembly as you used for the Part 1.

    We will kindly ask you to refrain from using complex assemblies and stick to the simple ones, such as a column or a beam. You can see the examples above:

  • Welcome to our guide for the tablet 2D viewer!

    Here, you will learn how to work with the digital drawings and get information about some useful features of the 2D viewer.

  • Part 2: Basics of the 2D Viewer

  • 2D viewer

    Within the FabStation 2D viewer is called Drawings.

  • You can access it within the FabStation from any mode: View, Fabricate or Inspect by choosing the assembly. Please refer to Part 1 if you would like a refresher on how to choose an assembly.

    There are 2 main benefits of this viewer:

    • Keep things digital;
    • Check other parts of the assembly;

    Let's take a closer look on those benefits 👉

  • Part 2: Basics of the 2D Viewer

  • Step 1: Keep things digital

    With Drawings viewer there is no need to go back and forth printing and getting assembly drawings.

  • Once you found your assembly on the Home Screen of the FabStation, you can:

    1) View it from any mode, just by clicking on the Drawings button;

    2) Zoom it in and out with fingers 🤏 or buttons on the top left;

    3) Move zoomed in image with fingers 👇🏻

    4) Click on "Exit" on the top right to get back to the mode page with other actions.

  • Part 2: Basics of the 2D Viewer

  • Step 2: Check other parts of the assembly

  • You can view not only the current part you are working on, but all the other parts of the assembly.

    It can help you to have a better overview of the whole assembly/project and work more efficiently.

    To change the part of the assembly:

    1. Click on the drop-box called "Assembly PDF"

    2. If there are additional parts you can scroll and find the part you want to view.

    3. If there are too many parts search using numbers of the right to sort the parts, and when you see the one you need, click on it.

  • Tasks:

  • a) Navigate to the Drawing section.

    b) Check if the drawing you see there is the same as the paper one you usually get to complete an assembly.

    c) Click on "Assembly PDF" and see if there are other parts available to view.
